Fund Raising Idea, Inspired By The "maids Cafe" At Manifest

When i was at manifest this past Sunday, they had a Maid Cafe, set up in the middle of all the vendor stands. It was themed, obviously to go with the whole Japanese maids anime theme, but was nothing special, other than it had lots of girls (and a couple of guys) dress as japanese maids.

There menu was very simple, coffee, cake and some other premade items. Coffee came out of an automatic machine around the corner, out of site. And they charge $3 per coffee, and $6 per cake item, and where packed for most of the event.
Now, I was thinking, what would it take to turn this idea, just modeled on a starwars theme, into a fund raising gig for the respective starwars clubs? Volunteers would need to staff it in costumes, and perhaps line the walls to make it look like the cantena. I imagine, we should be able to hire the coffee machine, and need to work a forumlae where we would need to sell so many coffee's to break even, use some funds to fund future prop constructions and the remaining donate to TLC. Also if demand exceeds supply, perhaps be willing to perhaps reimburse volunteers somehow.
Just an idea, and probably not suitable for geddon, as they have catering on location, but for Nova, @ the showgrounds next year, its totally doable.[/img]

Would we need a health department license to sell home made food goods?

Once other hurdle will be getting the go ahead by the con to sell food. Manifest didn't use the showground's cafe, so as far as I know its easier for them to get the go ahead to sell other food at the con. I have herd that it costs dominoes a fair bit to have their stall at supanova (sponsoring a vast majority of the event). I might be wrong on this though.

Anyone have a Campbells or Costco card.
Might be worth a look in there
