Got a rubies dl44 han solo blaster from the usa for about $32 ausd. Using this for my tie fighter gun.

Started to pull all the bits off. Its screwwed and glued. Unlike the hasbro. Be careful.

Next is wire up an led and micro switch to the trigger and 3.5mm jack for louder audio.

Got the 3.5mm jack wired in for sound. Pop goes the greedo
Located a micro switch behind the trigger for the red led in the barrel. Managed to stuff the original speaker. But got another from jaycar for a couple of dollars.

Some sound options.. [for anyone reading really]

2w SEA amp.. $20, probably do for this... though having trooped with it, I MUCH prefer the Aker for trooper amp. If you've already got one lying around after an upgrade to an Aker [much louder at 12w] .. you could shove it inside of bigger guns.. I might try and shove mine inside my BFG .... after I finish those 300 other projects I've got going atm ;)
3.5w Jaycar Amp .. $18. It's premade and in a fairly small package. Very basic wiring, ask me, troy, or steve if in trouble
12w Jaycar Amp .. $23. Slightly larger than the one above, but still pretty small.

~~The big issue is finding a decent 'small' and powerful speaker. Any ideas anyone? Jaycar do a 2"x3" 5w speaker for $8, but that's still a little too big for most guns.~~

Still Looking for small and LOUD speakers, though here's a good start of local speakers. Combined with a small amp, they ought to turn most quiet blasters into monsters, albeit with reduced battery life.

Glued the sucker back togeather and cut off all the odd bits that shouldnt be there and made it more like the original. Started sanding it back.

True that shiney. Just srewed the pooch. Drilled a hole to insert 2x hex screws and hit the sound board. Didnt really think that through. Owell led still works. Time to over compensate for no sound.

Ouch! There's a plastic toy gun in Reject shop for $6 that sounds a lot like a blaster [oh and it's got a rumbler.. ie. a shaking motor. Ben 10 gun I think it is from memory.

Silly me I glued and screwed and filled it for moding. Ill do another after this one. Thinking if it turns out ok I might get a mauser replica from the gold coast and put the blastec greeblies on it and weaver scope. Will finish this one and see how it goes. It should still look cool.

Put a few counter sunk hex bolts in the scope holder and mounted the end of a 22.250 cal center fire rifle bullet with nut in the center.

I drilled out the holes in the barrel and mounted another hex bolt under it. I put a washer on the scope end for depth and detail when painting.

Then cut up an old gun scope for the ajustment mounts. its getting some weight in it now.

Started to paint my dl44. Base coat of flat black. Then dry brushed copper and silver over the main areas. Will repost pix when wood handle and gun blue is added
