I have had the guys from FISD get back to me and apparently I "nailed all the EIB requirements"....BUT... the FX or AM helmet is acceptable for 501st standards BUT isn't acceptable for EIB.

The FX helmets haven't been acceptable for EIB status for over 2 years now:

Since the AM kit is really just an upgraded version of the original FX, and the helmet was only remodelled very slightly (the dome I think) it stands to reason that it wouldn't be acceptable either. I personally hate the MRCE, horrible symetrical rubbish, but it is accepted, go figure. I'll keep my ears open for a cheap, accepted style helmet for you.

It would need to be a REALLY cheap helmet as I have been out of work for 8 weeks now and am struggling to make ends meat.
Thanks again,

Not a lot of differences but the dome is noticeably more rounded at the front and not as flat on top.
Maybe the regs need to be revised?

There are other larger helmets that are accurate and accepted. Kev's ANH for one, TE2 is slightly larger than an AP, and an original TE is marginally bigger again.
Remember that EIB is voluntary - not required, and when we see a larger number of troops with an EIB award, then it is likely that the requirements will actually tighten. I can't see the EIB members voting to allow the AM helmet to be approved.

How hard and expensive is it to get one of the other alternatives?
Thanks again,
