The tuskens LOVE it !

I have had the guys from FISD get back to me and apparently I "nailed all the EIB requirements"....BUT... the FX or AM helmet is acceptable for 501st standards BUT isn't acceptable for EIB.

Nice looking set-up Grant. Very good attention to detail.
The FX helmets haven't been acceptable for EIB status for over 2 years now:
http://forum.whitear...?showtopic=8583
Since the AM kit is really just an upgraded version of the original FX, and the helmet was only remodelled very slightly (the dome I think) it stands to reason that it wouldn't be acceptable either. I personally hate the MRCE, horrible symetrical rubbish, but it is accepted, go figure. I'll keep my ears open for a cheap, accepted style helmet for you.

Thanks J
It would need to be a REALLY cheap helmet as I have been out of work for 8 weeks now and am struggling to make ends meat.
Thanks again,
G

Oversized or not, that FX helmet looks right at home on you mate. Thats why I have always argued that though oversized on some people, the FX definitely has its place on us larger troopers.

I'd agree Troy, the FX size looks right on taller/bigger folk.. I'm 6'2" and sizewise, it looks right on my build to me. Now that my eyes are tuned for it, there are some differences that show up on side shots... [im bending at the knees lol]

Me in FX left / Dave in AP right[much more accurate]

The other thing is that the AM has been improved slightly as you can see in these badly composed comparison pics

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs106.snc4/35649_1448473527380_1099460237_1315013_3892067_n.jpg

Not a lot of differences but the dome is noticeably more rounded at the front and not as flat on top.

Maybe the regs need to be revised?

Cheers,
G

Whilst I agree that for larger troopers the FX/AM helmet is more in proportion, there are other inaacuracies that also figure in the FISD EIB programs inacceptance of those helmets.
There are other larger helmets that are accurate and accepted. Kev's ANH for one, TE2 is slightly larger than an AP, and an original TE is marginally bigger again.

Remember that EIB is voluntary - not required, and when we see a larger number of troops with an EIB award, then it is likely that the requirements will actually tighten. I can't see the EIB members voting to allow the AM helmet to be approved.

Fair enough.
How hard and expensive is it to get one of the other alternatives?
Thanks again,
