Troop Report- Million Paws Walk 2010
Albert Park Lake

Mission: The Annual RSPCA fundraising event was to be held at Albert Park Lake and attendance numbers were up on the previous year. Rumours of rebel activity amongst the civilian population were rife. Knightfall attendance this year would be boosted with 5 troopers and 4 ICI's(Imperial Canine Infiltrators), to ensure that no insurgents or agitators could hijack the event and ruin the fun for the law-abiding citizenry.
Location: Albert Park Lake
Terrain/weather: Flat, open landscape. Visibility was poor leading up to the event start time as there was a thick fog shrouding the landscape. The fog cleared an hour before the event ensuring clear visibility of the area.
Attendees:
Hamish: TK6673- Stormtrooper
Beejay: TC8575- Clone Trooper
Blowie: TA6204- AT-AT Driver
Bobby: TK7685- Stormtrooper
Cen: TK4216- Stormtrooper(dalmation disguise)
EE3-Slinger: DZ9775- Tusken Raider
ICI's:
Sgt Hamish
Wampa
Kuta
Yogi
Wranglers:
Amie
Wendy
Kim (Oz Vulcan)
Rebel Legion:
Zac(Anduril)- Jedi Padawan
Kim(Kimelius)- Rebel Fleet Trooper
Report:
The troopers arrived in their various transports, rallying near the(what is now known to be the F-1 pavillion) clock tower. Armouring up went without a hitch, although the wet grass was not a hit with the Tusken & his Massif( apparently not enough sand!).
The troopers converged on the main staging area of the event posing for photos with the citizens while the ICI's did their job of sniffing out troublesome individuals, which included the many and varied attending canines.
After letting our presence be known at the staging area, we took up our position outside the start line as this point is in need of policing due to the initial rush and panic.
The event started on time(10am) and, although it proved challenging, order was maintained for the commencement of the event with a smooth flow of foot(&paw) traffic. Many 'move alongs' were issued to prompt mesmerised citizens as they passed the assembled troopers. Their displays of 'armour l'amour' clearly expressed in their faces.
The assembled ICI's did their best to put the citizens at ease with their displays of friendliness and playfulness, although they sometimes had to demonstrate their authority towards canine citizens who lacked respect for the pauldron!
The 5 km course was conquered with ease by the Knightfall troops and their wranglers with regular stops for photo requests and hi-5's. The temptation to commandeer an unattended golf buggy almost proved too much, but the troopers were there to lead by example, so on we marched.
The ICI's performed admirably in the circumstances and completed the walk within 90 minutes. Sgt Hamish, being experienced in this event, led the way and did not dawdle(unlike his everyday walks!), maintaining a taught leash throughout the event.
Incidents: a massif-mishap at the first leg of the walk required a clean-up, but they build em' tough on Tatooine. The Tusken and his massif were soon back on the trail.
Armour malfunctions: none
Unhappy citizens: none
Happy citizens: numbering in the thousands!
Money raised: through our sponsorship page-$595.00!!!!

It was a great troop. Those first 3 KMs seemed to go on for ever, but the last two were quick.
