TC 7717 "Arcticfox" - Troop Report:
Super Hero Saturday
Informal dress code, for 501st Legion
Location: Toys'R'Us Noarlunga
Landscape/Weather: Urban interior
Date / Time: Saturday 10th April - 9.30am to 12.30pm
Troopers: TC7717 Arcticfox
Wranglers: Niko (he checked my groin area for me at one stage, so that counts!)
Report:
With an infinitely more altruistic operation demanding the attention of the Squad on the other side of the city, this one became a solo mission for the Arcticfox - even if only to bench-test the many repairs rendered on the Clone Troopers kit from the last mission attended....
the Laat/i landed at the front-line without incident, dispite having developed several additional quirks over the last week or so, and the Artcicfox entered in typical clandestine fashion. After a quick kit check and set-up in the cleanest lunch room ever witnessed, he proceeded directly into battle at the entrance to the facility.
Attracting instant interest from persons entering even other building in the area, the much enjoyed "Statue that lives" game begun - with many an adult jumping and even more kids laughing at them. One seemingly manly semi-Emo even emitted the most girl scream heard, followed by payouts from his friends and girlfriend. Many photos taken.
As the numbers slowly grew, Trooper 7717 mingled amongst the Humans inside the building, answering the myriad of queries about the 501st and Star Wars in general, from adult and child alike - one gentleman, easily into his 60's or more, seem particularly taken with the presence of a Trooper with his first words being "..almost like Boba Fett, yet not quite - new character?"...... he raised two boys to adulthood in good SW fashion, and now his grandchildren will follow the family tradition.
also in Super Hero costumes were not only several staff - Batwoman, Super Woman, Wolverine etc, but also many of the kids - from Spiderman to a couple of likely lads in true Star Wars Clone and Stormie style - hi to MiniRex ;)
Some photo ops with the facilities mascot, semi-bovine 'Max the Giraffe', and many kids and staff, followed by another bout of the 'Statue' game brought the morning to pass quicker than thought passing, making for a pleasant solo Troop.
the morning over, and reverting to civilian guise, the WinterVixen and the FoxKit joined the Arcticfox to attend to some toy browsing of their own.
Summery: Completed in bloodless fashion
Casualties: No fatalities.
Injuries: none
Armor Repairs: there has never, and maybe never will be, EVER been a Troop without repairs required for the Artcticfox........ when Niko checked it, it was fine, but later it split anyway ;)
Happy People: everyone - the three generations of Star Wars fans family may yet join the 501st - Grand Dad wants only the best suit, Boba Fett.
At the end, whilst in civvies, one staff member was overheard saying that "the Robot Trooper was a professional artist or something, i think, because he looked menacing but, like, had scared kids happy and excited inside of a few seconds, even though you couldn't see his face...we have no idea what he even looks like in there!"
...and a mum whose kid was making her laugh when he insisted she buy him a captain Rex suit when he was bigger with the promise of doing the dishes every night until that day.
People not happy: none, though the SW Grandpa couldnt find the mask he came in to buy....... "two kids had some here earlier, but now theres none left! bummer"
Mission Status: completed, though i have to call the Grandpa on his mobile once Niko has told me where to buy the masks his boys were wearing ;)

Fox is the master of the solo troop.
I popped in with my boys to see Rex. Bruce did a great job and was loved by all.
