It has arrived! I am beside myself. It is gonna be a big job with plenty of trimming of parts before I can even think of assembly. The detail onthis is incredible- far more than I have seen in any injection kit! It is obviously an early piece off the mold! it suffered slightly in shipping, but it is all very fixable. This is a very rough arrangement to show comparison with the other kits of same scale. the imperial shuttle is too small to put in photo. Maybe later. ;)

The medical frigate came in the same box and they still charged me for seperate postage, despite my request to combine and save a few $. That is my only gripe.
Overall, who's a happy boy? I am!! :D

OK. I've been frantically sanding/dremelling and trimming all afternoon. I have some of the fuselage/hull pieces together and I am seeing a problem arising- the overall shape and structural integrety is gonna be a bitch to sort out. i think I'm going to have to make a diamond-shaped brace to put across the inside to keep her together and sound. There is nothing in the middle to keep her 'afloat', only around the edges. There are 6 main pieces to the hull and resin is very brittle, so there will be very little strength there. Bring in the milliput! Again, the detail is amazing!

Yes- that is the one. It is a good kit for the market at which it was aimed. The detail is quite good and the joins are all spot- on. The guns are clumsy, but that is my only complaint.
Got some more Milliput today to reinforce the Avenger's inner hull joints/seams. the biggest challenge is marrying the hull pieces up so that they and the panel lines are completely level. Then I have to make sure that the lines of the outer edges are true and completely straight, which is quite a challenge indeed. All the while I have to be careful as the resin is very brittle and fine detail can be ruined from simple finger pressure in the wrong spot!
I tried to post new photos but I can't seem to do it from my photobucket account anymore.

How goes it down at the shipyards?

Are those wookie yardies (mechanical ingenuity vs short tempers) giving you much grief?

They've all cleared out! Babbling about 'lifeday' or something like that. They all lit jossticks(sic?) & took off wearing red robes. Haven't seen them since.
The main hull is all secure, but it is on hold while we focus on getting the house finished & touch-ups.
The MC-80 is ready for painting, as is the Nebulon Frigate. I hope to start back on them soon, but the calendar over the next 2 months is very busy. Maybe 2nd half of year they'll be ready to roll out of the shipyards. That's if those ******* wookies ever come back.http://forum.501tag.com/public/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif

They are all the same scale, but all on the back-burner, unfortunately. I will undercoat them when the weather gets a bit warmer.
