I think that speeders are do-able, speeder bike, landspeeder and snowspeeder- all manageable sizes and transportable. You could probably do all 3!

Hamish

looking at the blue prints that i have gathered..yes i could do all 4 actually inl a half size ATAT..and pos a half size falcon as well in the furture..but id say 2 speeder bikes, a snow speeder and the landspeeder to tow it all plus a broken tie fighter..am negotiating a horse float and or an old caravan..which has to be wrecked and will leave a chasy but not sure of the quality cause the caravan is a wreck.

can get 12mm marine ply for 15 bucks a sheet (1200 by 2400) and any length pine for approx $120->180 per/mtr dep on size, and can get cheap steel extrusion from hoppers crossing..so materials are good.

now need to track down a wrecked car witha useable motor, and purchase an ark welder, i have access to a oxy accet kit, need a sparky to brainstorm 12 volt power and pos a converter to bump it up to 24volt in some areas for smoke machines and some lazer lighting(can get that from theatre auctions)

Troy are you avail for some sparky brain storming ill hit TDBo up at work for some hours of hands on and i can get my fellow structural engineers to help with some sheet metal fabrication.

i can get off cut styra foam with colour bond backing on it (off cuts from an industrial fridge manufacturer)

its basically a 5yrs plan at this stage(one item completed every 11 months or so  ) but that will shorten up when we get some serious man hours into the construction phase id say another 6 months of planning and material aquisition and then we will start the hands on work in pos May next year depending on work comitments and budgetry constraints (minister for Finances Resources and Entertainment is doing a budget overview  )

we will be aquiring approx 100achres farm soon ish once again depending on the budget commitees report due early next year (when wife returns to work..lol :P )

so thats the latest .....any comments, advice or blueprint help would be magic..well done folks we are moving along our journey at a great sturdy pace.. B)

Sounds great mate. I have some friends in the Belgian Big Props Garrison too who I am sure will be happy to offer some advice.

You could even do swoop bikes. And attach them as a shell over a motorcycle like they did in ROTS.

Thank you Azrael

yes spotted his project a few months back..very impressive. :notworthy:

.however i will be completing the speeder bikes and snow and tie fighters first mainly to get a feel for the 'life size' prop thing and also to build up funds for the bigger projects .

i have been scouting a bigger shed for the projects storage, my mate has a few on his property so i may make use of...yet another a/c hanger to store the life size models in

so all good so far :beerchug:

What about an X-wing and a Tie fighter on separate floats *raised slightly on a frame to look like they are flying* that way for a Christmas Pageant you could have one chasing the other. Throw in a speederbike or 2 *working with trainer wheels for easy handing in armour* and you could do your own christmas parade :P

Then if you feel like having some real fun, Immortalise yourself and make a fan film. Im sure a whole load of the guys here would love a slot in it, and fundages can really help make portable generic ship interiors look awesome (like the falcon or a Rebel Blocade Runner/Deathstar/Star Destroyer) and yeah. You could even get a lasertag business kit and have the most awesome lasertag in your area/australia.

Just a thought :)

Or donate a nice amount to the guys in Vic to make the rest of the Cantina for Celebration Oz :D

Well the speder bike is off to a 'snails pace start' :(

i have thus far only gathered the 2/ea X75mm small aluminium yaught masts for the fwd out-rigger controls  ..lol

anyway the b udget just hit the big brown fan with our 115 achre purchase so all major projects have been put on 'go slow' mode

but i will persist with the speeder bike and hopefully see if i can generate the second by the Myer chissy parade ;)

anyway oh progress pics are a little pointless unless you want to see two aluminum poles sitting in the weedy grass..lol

lol cool 'Pizza the Hutt' TK671

ok official request from the imperial ship yards forman (i created my own tittle ...lol  )

i have just got the truck load of 12 mm marine ply for the Tie fighter and some of the speeder bike construction ( these will be fixed not able to move ..i like the ones shown in Shineys link..but i keep thinking of those daggy horse uniforms with 2 blokes in em and so deteriorates their worth in my eyes)..i will have a 10 stacker horse float soon hopefull and will strip it down to put the speeders an crashed tie on it and then ill start the snow etc latter just trying t get a basic one ready for this year but may be out of time already.

What i need from you extreemly observant folks is greebles for the Tie fighter and especialy the speeder bikes and pos the snow speeder and x-wing if you find some thing PM me and ill bring the trailer :)

Thank you all..dont need workers yet but a qualified welder will be handy in about 6 weeks time :)

Dfish -_- working hard or hardly working
