Since we appear to have a large number of new Recruits joining up at the moment, I'd thought it would be good to lay some ground rules for this section.

1) Personal items only.

2) The admin staff are NOT responsible for any transaction on this forum. We ARE here to mediate if there is a problem.

3) Keep your items current. If you have sold the item, please post so people don't keep trying to buy an item that is not available.

4) DO NOT hijack someone else's for sale thread. Start your own.

5) If you have negative comments about a seller, do not hijack their thread. Start a new one of your own in the appropriate forum.

6) If the thread is an older one, PM the seller first to see if the item/s are still available.

7) Please keep ALL 501st Merchandise in the Members Only section of the Forum.

8) Merchandise must be "in-hand" and ready to ship before accepting payment. Interest threads are allowed to determine selling order.

9) Sale items must be listed with an asking price. This does not exclude OBOs and price negations, but no open priced sales.

After recent events involving a member of the Redback Garrison ripping off Troopers here and around the world, new rules have been introduced for the for sale threads here on the TAG forums as well as the Redback forums and I suspect soon at the SCG. We are following the Lead of the Redback command staff here, but adding an extra layer of protection, where no new "For Sale" Threads will be visible, until they have been seen and approved by a member of the Garrison staff.

From this point on any sales on the Forums MUST be accompanied by photo’s accurately and clearly depicting the item for sale, and as much as is possible proof that the seller is the actual owner of the item. It doesn’t matter if you are in the picture, or have something that can identify you in the picture with the item - just something to clearly show that the item is yours to sell; If you are selling armour or armour parts that previously were the property of another, then I would expect that the provenance of the items is also listed - i.e. list who owned it before you did, what modifications were made by you, that kind of thing.

If you are scratch-building something for sale, then a step-by-step photo-journal of your build will now also be expected. (We are pretty good at doing this anyway, and is a good habit for all of us to get into.)

This will be getting policed pretty strictly, as it is for the protection of both sellers and prospective buyers alike. So please don't be offended if your Sale thread is temporarily removed and you are asked for provenance or proof of ownership to be included. Failure to meet these guidelines will result in your thread not being approved.

These guidelines apply to sales both on any of the Australian 501st forums and world wide Legion Forums that you, choose to visit.

In addition to the above, to further protect our members from dubious characters, the following will come into effect immediately.

Forum members will be required to have a minimum of 50 posts AND have been a Registered User for a minimum of 2 months before a SALE thread will be approved.

If you do not meet these requirements, the thread will not be approved. This ensures that you are genuinely interested in what we do here, and you are attempting to become a part of our great online community. This does not mean that you can't respond in a sale thread and buy an item listed.

All Sale threads currently approved from members that do not meet the above requirements will be allowed to stand. However additional items listed in the same thread will not be permitted. Trying to circumvent the proceedure by posting in the wrong Forum will be frowned upon and may earn you a tap on the Warning button.

Just a reminder folks, once your item is SOLD, please edit the title as such so the thread can be locked down. This will help reduce any confusion with newer members looking for gear.
